Pyrenees, climbing and randonee.
A year in the mountains you won't forget!
Do you want to be outdoors a lot, learn climbing, mountaineering, randonee and travel to the Pyrenees? This is the line for those who want to experience more.
The year on the line
Autumn starts outside. We actively use the local area, get to know each other as a group and build basic skills in the mountains.
We leave early for a trip to the Pyrenees . The trip takes us by train south through Europe, and is often the first big experience together as a group. Here you get to experience climbing , bouldering and life close to nature in a landscape that is wilder and more alpine than the Norwegian one.
Throughout the fall, we will continue to work on hikes, climbing, and skills that make you safe outdoors – both alone and with others.
When winter comes, we move further up into the high mountains. Then we work with summit hiking , randonee , avalanche awareness and winter outdoor activities. You get to experience snow caves, tent camping, bonfires, ice climbing and long days out in the winter mountains.
Later in the winter we travel back to the Pyrenees . This time we encounter the mountains in their winter attire, and experience randonee, high mountains and glacier areas around Monte Perdido and the iconic “Blue Glacier” .

Teacher
Meet the teacher
Arne Myksvoll is a teacher at Friluftsliv Norge. He grew up in Bergen, but he thrives best in the mountains, especially when it's winter, snow and long days on the trail.
Arne has worked for many years as an outdoor teacher at folk high schools in Sogndal, Bømlo and Hallingdal, among others. He is educated in sports, outdoor life and science from the colleges of Telemark and Sogn og Fjordane, as well as the Oslo School of Sports and Health Sciences.
On a trip with Arne, you won't just learn about karting, skiing, and camping. You'll also learn what it's like to thrive outdoors, both when the sun is shining and when the weather isn't quite cooperating.
He enjoys most forms of outdoor activities, but the winter mountains are his favorite.
Motto:
Go on a hike, in harmony with nature!
