Pyrenees, climbing and randonee.
A year in the mountains you won't forget!
Do you want to be outdoors a lot, learn climbing, mountaineering and randonee – and travel to the Pyrenees? This is the line for those who want to experience more.
The year on the line
Autumn starts outside. We actively use the local area, get to know each other as a group and build basic skills in the mountains.
We go on a trip to the mountains early in the year, where you get to try climbing outdoors, bouldering and being close to nature in raw surroundings. This is often the trip where the group really comes together.
Throughout the fall, we work on hikes, climbing, and skills that make you safe outdoors, both alone and with others.
When winter comes, we move further up into the high mountains. Then we work with mountain hiking and randonee (mountain touring ski), avalanche awareness and winter outdoor activities. You get to experience snow caves, tents, bonfires, ice climbing and long days out in the winter mountains.
In February we travel to the Pyrenees. The trip takes us by train south through Europe, a leisurely and social start to what will be one of the biggest highlights of the year.
In the Pyrenees you will encounter a landscape that is different from the Norwegian one. Higher, wilder and more alpine. We work in the area around Monte Perdido, and get to experience high mountains, randonee and glaciers, including in the area around the iconic “Blue Glacier”.
Throughout the spring we will use what we have learned. You will gain more responsibility, more fluency and greater experiences.
The goal is for you to become confident enough to plan and carry out your own trips, both in Norway and abroad. And perhaps most importantly: you will have experiences and memories that will last long after the year is over.
