Folk High School Hallingdal Dalen

Administration

A strong team with commitment, experience and a twinkle in the eye.
Our administration ensures that Hallingdal Folkehøgskole is a safe, tidy and inspiring place to be – for both students and staff.

The administration is the school's engine – the ones who make sure everything runs smoothly and that both students and staff are doing well.
Here you will find people with different backgrounds and experiences, but with one thing in common: a great commitment to folk high school life and to everyone who is a part of it.

They work with everything from finances, operations and admissions to communication, travel and student follow-up – and always have the door open for a chat.
With us, the administration is both a supporter, a problem solver and a cheerleader – with warmth, humor and full control over the calendar.

Portrait Beate

Beate Aas - Principal

Beate has a background from Osloskolen, Tønsberg and Risør, but has now settled in Gol - and has really grown to love the surrounding mountains. She loves winter, snowboarding and outdoor activities, and enjoys hiking as much as she does with her students.

She is easy to recognize by her energy, her laughter and the tattoo on her calf with the motto "Just do it". Beate is passionate about creating good experiences with students, and believes that people learn best when they are challenged, mastered - and have fun along the way.

Cristina Moran Kjølstad - Assistant Principal and Teacher

Cristina is Spanish/Norwegian and has lived in Mexico, Spain, Norway and France.

She had the biggest culture shock when she moved to Hallingdal from Oslo 5 years ago. Cristina has now adopted words like "stusligstugo", "gommo" and "vi fär sjå". She has a background in psychology, social anthropology and pedagogy with work experience in the humanitarian industry, school and as a flight attendant. She loves hiking and changes hobbies every 3 months. In summary, she is a bit good at a lot of things, can be used for a lot of things, but most of all she is concerned with laughing with others (and herself) every day.
